Cynics Anonymous

I go to as many gigs as is financially possible and thought it would be sensible to keep a journal of gigs I go to, cds I buy, new and old bands I come across and anything else I fancy going on about.

3 Feb - The Nintendos @ Furys, Glasgow

This was the first gig of The Nintendos, who also happen to be the band that I "manage". I use that term lightly as I've had little to do with the band since we made the changes to the previous line up and put the old band to death.

The set started very well and the opening 2 songs gave me some hope that in the new form, the band could have a future, however from the third song, which was an old SmytherJones number, the set went downhill and the band seemed more interested in banter with their mates at the front of the stage and I lost interest in their set as I'm sure did a fair amount of other. A 5 minute break between songs and what I consider to be a terrible final song left my initial optimism dented and the less said about the after show antics the better but they have left me with the feeling that this band has some way to go and a lot of growing up to do if they have any interest in making it.
